The process is an open, equal-power dialogue style that includes the following elements:
- Listen, hear and feel the issue expressed. Dialogue & inquire on specifics and background; create a well-formed goal (define what improvement looks like)
- Answer questions regarding hypnosis and in-session technique(s), walk thru the session agenda

Sessions usually last about an hour, first sessions may last a bit longer.

When hypnosis is used, it is an inner, energetic work and functions "from the inside out". My main philosophy in hypnosis and transpersonal modes of healing is to empower the client for the change sought while honoring and holding the space where that occurs. When hypnosis is used, it is an inner, energetic work and functions "from the inside out". My main philosophy in hypnosis and transpersonal modes of healing is to empower the client for the change sought while honoring and holding the space where that occurs. Healing and transformation is invited in a non-judgemental, compassionate space. My practice has been influenced by Roberto Assagioli, Carl Jung and Abraham Maslow. As a guide, I respect and work within the client belief system, including any spiritual beliefs. This is sometimes referred to as the Empowerment Model, and differs from the more traditional hypnotic "Directive Model". Both models have their place, however, and model and style selection is always in harmony with the client.

I have been certified as a Master Hypnotist, Certified Hypnotherapist (CA) and Clinical Hypnotherapist (CA) through the HCH Institute in Lafayette, California. The certification program requires 200 classroom hours of training & practicums, significant outside reading assignments and integration, and open session evaluations by instructo
I have been certified as a Master Hypnotist, Certified Hypnotherapist (CA) and Clinical Hypnotherapist (CA) through the HCH Institute in Lafayette, California. The certification program requires 200 classroom hours of training & practicums, significant outside reading assignments and integration, and open session evaluations by instructors. The clinical certification requires an additional 6 months and ~200 more hours in working with public clients under supervision, including weekly cohort reviews. I hold no licenses, am not a licensed physician, psychiatrist or psychotherapist, and am not qualified to diagnose, treat, or prescribe medication for, physical or mental conditions. I also earned Bachelor and Master Degrees in unrelated social science and management disciplines.

For many years, I led larger groups of people in business and academic settings. I was able to observe a full spectrum of behaviors, attitudes and belief systems across a wide population. Over the years, I came to understand that when someone experienced distress, anxiety, relationship problems, family issues, or engaged in self-negativity, it was often due to something deep within. Often something they were not consciously aware of or did not understand. This energized me to research and learn on my own about the mind & brain, and especially the subconscious mind. Along the way I earned an MA degree, and read hundreds of books and articles on the topic. This ultimately led me to the HCH Institute, where I found a wonderful community of teachers, mentors, healers and colleagues. I completed their coursework and their six month clinical program, receiving the Certified Clinical Hypnotherapy (CCHT) credential. Along with traditional hypnosis and hypnotherapy, the Institute integrates concepts and techniques of spiritual hypnotherapy, allowing the whole self to benefit from our connection with a higher energy source.
I was trained, and believe, in offering non-judgmental, compassionate and empowering hypnosis services. This can unlock insights and understanding to help my clients on their respective journey.
